Sounds like she is doing well, if the temps were really too low, she would have trouble digesting her food. Since she is active, eating like a pig and pooing regularly, the temps are probably fine as they are and your therometer may just be off. If you use the dial shaped stick on side of tank type thermometers, they are not very good at measuring basking temps. The strip type thermometers are next to useless. Digital thermometers with a probe are great, as you can lay the probe directly on the basking spot. Temp guns are great too, as you can 'point and shoot' to measure temps on any surface.
Wait till she finishes shedding her head and see if the black spot remains or goes away. It could be something minor that was already well on its way to healing. Just watch to see if it gets bigger after the shed or smaller. ----- PHLdyPayne
