At this point dispite what we would like to think, a good portion of the animals available from petshops are wild caught. Besides there are many benifits to keeping animals from a persons region such as the fact that the climate is the same and food items can often be caught from local sources (well at least in summer), and inexperience is found with ALL animals, people buy or catch all sorts of stuff without knowing how to take care of it, its just up to us to educate ourselves.
