Whites leg spasm

I'm wondering if any one knows what could have happened.First off I had this Whites frog for about 2 weeks,he was around 2 inch's, good color, good eater,however a few days ago he seemed to becoming lazy,he just was not moving about as much.Then one night I had him out while I was cleaning his habitat,and noticed him stretch out his rear legs and begin to spasm...that went on for perhaps a minute and then stopped.He died two days later.....want could have happened?I kept the humidity up,fresh water daily, crickets and meal worm diet.i'm at a loss,any help much appreciated.
