First thing you should do is identify the type of toads you have in your basement. Most likely they are American Toads as they are pretty common in Canada. Then research their care online.



Most will do well in a small tank with cypress mulch or bed a beast and sphugnum moss, dampened lightly. Feed fruitflies and other small insects. That is about all I know about toad care.
