During this adjustment period they may not eat much or at all. For now, make sure you are meeting all it's husbandry requirements, getting the correct basking temps, ambient temperatures, sufficient hides/cover areas, water, humidity etc. Keep direct interaction with the tortoise (ie handling) to a minimum or not at all during this adjustment period. Keep offering food, even if he shows no interest. If it doesn't start to eat in a week or two, it may be necessary to consult with a vet to see if there are other reasons the turtle isn't eating. (ie illness, internal parasites, dehydration etc.) | ||
