RE: corrugated cardboard

We use the cardboard in our large cages and place the thermostat probe on top of the cardboard and tape the cord down with wide painters tape.

It can be placed under the cardboard, but then you would need to adjust the temp setting to make up for the fact that it is warmer under the cardboard than it is on top.

Either way will work. Just depends on personal preference.
