No animal protein. There is no need for it, and it's not a good idea. For protein, I grind up alfalfa hay and sprinkle it on his food.
I had an outdoor cage for him when he was much younger (and smaller) that I made from PVC pipe and coated chicken wire. I haven't used it in years though. I have an enclosed yard now, and he is big enough that I just let him out when he goes to the door. I always keep and eye on him when he is out though (I don't need him climbing up any of the trees...). When he's had enough he comes back to the door and I let him in.
>>Ok so on the feeding never has he had any part of his diet animal protein right? I have seen so meny iguanas that have been fed animal protein here and there and are full grown and look fine. Though i still have NEVER fed mine any animal protein and do fully beleive they do not eat anything like that in wild. Im definitly going to get the ball rolling on getting an outdoor sunning cage. Can i see yours?
