(copied from this mornings post)

Well, I decided to open my connecting tubes a little early this year. Most of my females were not bred last year and are nice and girthy. I've done really well at getting the night time temps down with some changes to my room and the cold temps we've had in CA these last few weeks.

While I have not seen any real breeding activity, I did find a nice surprise last night, Not sure if it was a hemipenal shed or a sperm plg but found it hanging from the edge of a hide box. Definately a good sign of impending breeding activity. And this is from a trio with ny new male breeder from 2004.

Here's a pic of the hemipenal shed, more to follow

It was in the top Right hand section of this cage stack. All the Right hand sections are connected via PVC piping with Tommy, Bullseye and Boo. The the left hand ones are also connected (but not to the right hand side) with Fred, Wilma and Betty.

Well of course that was a great thing to find/see last night.

Tonight when I came home I got an even better sight.

Also in the same cage section / tub:

That is Tommy and Boo courting, not sure if they actually copulated yet but they are still intertwined hours later.

Now they are completely inside the tub and not visible unless you know exactly what/where to look. I think I'll turn down the lights and put on some soft music, maybe light a candle?

Thanks,

Dave Colling
