The only reason I introduced the other locality male, was because I had a feeling that her son had NO interest in her as he was always making attempts at getting out of the cage to get away from her until many days later when he settled down enough to actually sleep next to her (but that seems like that is all he did). I didn't want to risk waiting another year so: Towards the end of the breeding season I put that 5 foot wildcaught male (that I found only about a hundred yards from where I found her) in there and he went to work on her IMMEDIATELY! Like I said, she laid a lot of eggs (16), but only four of them were fertile. Out of those four I got two with NO red and the other two with lots of red...I'm thankful just to have two that are looking very promising. | ||
