it is impossible to say as it will be varied all over the country, even within the same state. You want to be sure you take him to a vet who has some chameleon experience. Again, check out the page in my link for info and also go here: http://www.exoticpetevolution.com/vetfinder/
what state do you live in? Ask here on the forum for recommendations for your area, someone may be able to send you in the right direction. As for payment, I would say a minimum of about $50. Be sure to bring a fresh fecal sample to check for parasites! This isn't meant to sound mean but if you can't pay the vet, you shouldn't own the animal. As for your mom "not believing anything is wrong" show here the forums. If nothing else they should get a fecal check every 6 months as a precaution. Crickets and other insects can carry parasites and their eggs - another reason those cubes su*k the crix poop get stuck all over them and they eat it - then it goes back into your cham. ----- Chameleon Help & Resource Info
