A space heater isn't very good for rooms either unless it has a real thermostat on it. Get more heat on the cage. Put a thermometer on both sides of the cage. 78 at night is too cold for that snake right now. Make his minimum temps (cool side at night) not go below 85 for now. That should be your ambient teemp in the cage for now. Make sure there's a warm side around 88-90 and a basking spot not more than 95. Don't depend opn a rheostat or dimmer switch because you can't be looking at it every second even if you are home all the time. Get a thermostat for your heaters. Take him to the vet for antibiotics too. It's your low or fluctuating temps that made your snake get sick. RIs are very serious in snakes. [ Hide Replies ]
