I have a mature female that went off feed in Late August and a male that is 18 months old but too small to breed in October as he was only about 3 feet long.

I've fed the male steadily, not powerfed so that he is 3 1/2 feet long and not fat but more like a long distance runner.

Now my female hasn't fed since August and has been cooled down since 12/1/06, she's now looking hungry, looking around for food during the cooldown.

I cooled the male for 1 month.

I introduced the young male into the female and within 10 minutes he was squeezing the female with his back tail, he hasn't found the "spot" yet in 24 hours. I still have the couple on a timer with no heat at night.

The Main Question: Should I start feeding the male and female? Both look hungry.

Should I stop the cooling? According to one website, breeding starts during the gradual warmup but not constant regular year heat.

Am I too late as the female's cycle is off as she was probably ready to breed in November and should I wait until this fall?
