Well, the problem with breeding boas is that everything is so inconsistent.... For example, last season I had a litter of babies from a female that ovulated, but never shed. Other times we hear about females shedding multiple times after breeding, and then delivering babies.... So just because she is in shed, do not necessarily take it as a POS.

However, an answer to your question of whether or not there is a way to distinguish between a normal shed and a POS, (again, the rules may very snake-by-snake) but a POS usually takes longer than a normal shed cycle. It can usually take 16-23 days if I remember correctly. Good luck and keep us posted.
