Not the Typical Mite Question

Alright, so after combatting another mite infestation and going to the vet with a Surinam with an RI, I got to thinking...

You know how cats and dogs have those month long treatments that keep them free of fleas and ticks?

Has anyone ever heard of anything similar for reptiles with repect to mites? Maybe even something in a conceptual or design stage? Seems like something that'd make a ton of money in this hobby.
