my panther chameleon has a eye infection

i am wondering how do i get rid of an eye infection and what can be causeing it. i already put him in the shower for like 15 min. it seemed to help him but he still can't see to well. he is almost a year old. i don't have any type of beeding in the cage. i have all live plants in my cage.
