They seem to be particularly prone to it during their first year and generally can't handle the same size meals as a similarly sized Bci. Don't get me wrong, even juvie Bci's don't have the digestive capability of a similarly sized burm or retic, but they are a little hardier overall than their Bcc cousins. I've found that with the little guys, it's better to let them fully process and eliminate each meal before feeding them again. I just went through this with my little male Guyana this past winter and he got deathly thin. I really thought I was going to lose him, but he pulled through with flying colors and is doing fine now.
