what doesn't make sense to me is...

that this guy fought this snake for half an hour because A) it doesn't take that long to kill a snake that is preoccupied with killing if you have a knife and B) the boy would have died a lot quicker than that. Either there has been some gross hyperbole here or something isn't right.
