I am a huge fan of the lavender albino-and have two projects going that would be a dream if I hit on them-the lavender clown and the lavender snow (with VPI axanthic). Along the way making these projects I make lots of possible hets--and possible hets are a GREAT way to get into a project for a ton less $. I have hit on many poss het crosses-believe it or not even pairs where BOTH were possibles! If you are on a budget you might consider that route. Or if you can afford it start with a single het male and make your own possibles. There isn't any short cut-and any snake whether het or not you have to raise it anyway! If it turns out to be a het-then that is awesome-if not you still have a nice snake you raised yourself. My biggest hit on a poss het breeding was in 2004-two MALE poss het VPI axanthics x two female 100% het axanthics (normally you would never do this-it would be nuts-you would do it the other way around-but out of 15 eggs I hatched 9 axanthics 2.7!!), which are themselves poss het for albino! I kept them all and next year I will see which ones are het for albino and hopefully make some VPI snows!
