There are a lot of things in BP genetics that are assumed... so no, I haven't heard of any KNOWN sex-linkage. When somebody stumbles onto a new morph, that human being may or may not have a clue about genetics - and it is the degree to which that person has a clue or doesn't which filters any information the rest of us get.

I have my own theories...

I think some unexplained traits that people are stumping over may well involve sex-linkage... but I don't want to be the one to announce it unless I produce it.

I also think that Pastels are not as simply inherited as most would like to think; I think that the Pastel trait is controlled by a number of linked genes, some linked more closely than others. This would account for the vast range of "high grade" to "low grade" Pastels. If ALL the Pastels were Pastels because they were expressing the same one allele, then I don't think you would be able to see anything like the range of expression that is commonly seen.

I love this stuff and could go on for hours. Trust me, most of my classmates in college can't stand how much I love the topic, or how well I do in any of the genetics classes I can find. I have already taken all of the genetics courses that are offered at the undergraduate level at my school. I don't think I want to take on the graduate courses just yet... not that any but the most introductory course really helped to explain what we see in the Ball Game.
