Dont know about boas but I would imagine the biology would be somewhat the same as humans. I know we place pregnant females on their left side to keep pressure off their inferior vena cava's( pretty much the large central vein that returns the blood back to the heart from the lower portion of your body). Its better for them medically and physically more comfortable. no clue as far as snakes but I would imagine the same instance somewhat... Jon Runde
