I think I would watch them very closely to see if they turn dark grey or black, get puffy or red around the margins, or get larger. At 7 months I think his adult coloration could still be forming making this hard to rule out. Another safe thing you could do is put some Polysporin on them for a few days...it might stop a bacterial infection that might be present. If this isn't the problem the med won't hurt.
