Hi, new to the board, Planning on getting a male panther soon. I went overseas to Cairo when I was young-I went to a petstore (what they call a petstore over there mostly sick and hungry animals), with my dad one day and there was a crazy lizard -I liked reptiles since i was four years old I was six when I saw my first chameleon-. My dad told me it was a Chameleon he saw one when he was young (he grew up in Sudan) My dad bought him for me for about two dollars I named him or her Sticky dont know what kind of cham he was to this day, but I had him about four years and loved him more than any other animal I ever had. I had to catch him grasshoppers at the park for food no feeders over there, I gave him water through a straw-which noone has ever mentioned that ive seen online-but if you think your cham isnt getting enough water get a straw and a glass of water-hold one end of the straw with your thumb and stick it in the cup get a good amount of water in the straw then put it up to the chams mouth and slowly release the drops right onto his mouth my cham drank everytime like that. He lived on our balcony in an old christmas tree (not really a christmas tree looked kinda close to one I call it an African christmas tree) In the winter id bring him inside at night and put a spotlight on him. I couldnt bring him back with us when we came back to Vegas was to expensive for customs, so I let him go in a garden in the back of our hotel-goverment agency bought the whole hotel for my dads company. Ever since then ive been in love with Chameleons and I havent had one in the US yet but always wanted another one, Im 22 now and its finally gonna happen soon, Im trying to talk my wife into letting me use the spare bedroom to start breeding but we'll see about that =) sorry for the long post, just wanted to share some info about myself.
