I like using plastic coated florist's wire. It doesn't tend to tear screen and is a bit less noticeable as you can get it in colors. If you have to cut a hole in screen for a pvc pipe or a dripper hose you can keep the screen from fraying by hot glueing a plastic washer over the hole on each side.
