Supplements are safer to use as "gap fillers" rather than primary nutrition. You can overdose them. A good insect gutload is the most important thing. There is an excellent gutload recipe on www.adcham.com many of us use. I've also had good luck using the gutloads offered by www.cricketfood.com. I always give feeders fresh leafy greens (not spinach which binds calcium), fresh citrus fruit, fortified cereal grains like Total, and bee pollen. Dusting also depends on your cham's age and reproductive stage. For hatchlings who are growing fast, calcium (ReptiCal or MinerAll for indoor herps under UVB lighting with added D3 are good) lightly every day or 2 and vitamins (Herptivite is good) about once a week. For juveniles several months old, calcium every 3-4 days and vitamins every 2 weeks. Adults (after a year for most species) calcium once a week and vitamins once a month or 6 weeks. For breeding females who are putting a lot of reserves into young, calcium more often. There are excellent nutrition articles on www.adcham.com and www.chameleonnews.com you should read to get more detail about this.
