I agree that QBs is a good easy program to use - we have used it for my husbands business for years and love it.
But honestly - I've found with as small of a snake collection that we work with (50ish snakes) QBs is just too much - after using it the first year we decided to switch to a simple debit credit spreadsheet turned into the accountant at the end of the year.
In a typical year our expenditures are very limited and only reoccur a few times a year:
feeders (we feed f/t ordered in bulk 3-4 times a year)
misc supplies (substrate, deli cups, cleaners, shipping supplies bought in bulk once or twice a year)
shipping fees (as needed)
misc. memberships/advertising (usually one annual payment).
I would suppose if I had a huge facility with thousands of snakes and their feeders and employees and what have you - then QBs would make more sense but with a couple of dozen transactions annually - it was more than necessary. ----- Tosha
