I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. I also have a pastel male that exhibited the same behavior & thought that maybe "he" was a "she", which wouldn't have been so bad since you can get a male quite a bit cheaper than a female. Anyway, he has since locked up with several females this season so "he" is definitely a "he".
