Every instance when I have ever had someone call about "sagging" or pinching of doors it has always been one of two problems;
1. This is not an issue of sagging but of the bottom being pushed up by something that the cage is resting upon. This can be from an uneven floor, the bottom cage on a stack on thick carpeting, a cabinet that the cage extends beyond the edges of, or stacking the cage on another cage of an unequal footprint. The cages resting on cages of the same size footprint never "sag" and those doors never bind. A cage sitting on a dresser that is smaller than the cage can actually push upward on the bottom of the door causing the door to bind. A heat pad used under the cage can also push up on the bottom of the cage causing binding issues with the door. Full perimeter support is needed at the bottom of the cage. This support must be both in length and the depth of the cage. The fact that many floors are not very flat and that carpet can push up on the bottom cage, is one of the biggest reasons we began offering our pedestals.
2. The other instance is when something other than what is recommended is placed on top of the cage. The cage is not intended to ever support anything other than a cage of the same size footprint. This is detailed on the web site. The top of the cage will hold itself up for at least six and a half years as those are the oldest Boaphile Cages out there, and I have been using them all that time. Twelve of them in total in two stacks without any sagging. They were actually made using only 1/8" thick material which is half what we use today. The bottom of each cage with the weight of whatever animals you put in the cage is held up by the unique engineering and design that we originated nearly seven years ago now. The door is the secret. That third hinge in the center of the door is what holds the bottom up, at the front where door could pinch as they do on many other cages. We even have some folks that have put sand in as a substraight who have not had sagging issues.
As always, I have my phone with me all day, every day, and am happy to talk with anyone with any questions before and after the sale. (507) 263-7289. ----- Boaphile Home All Original/Boaphile Plastics The Boa Network
