My male hog island had a similar bump a few years ago, though his was a little more towards his nose. What happened was that he got a splinter of bedding stuck in his skin - a very small one at that, and pus developed around it.

The vet gave the snake some local anesthesia, lanced the area, and scraped out the hard pus. He looked at it and said it wasn't infected. The problem with snakes is that if they develop pus, it's not liquid like in mammals, it's a harder substance. Once it develops, the body doesn't easily absorb and get rid of it again. The boa is fine now, though he has a little scartissue bump in the same area, unfortunately.

So, your snake might have had a small wound, and the tissue underneath might have done the same thing as in my boa. A trip to the vet may be in order - but if it's not changing in size and not leaking anything, perhaps it can wait until the boa delivers, not sure.
