Posted by: AMNelson at Fri Mar 16 09:26:37 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by AMNelson ] I have a BP that seems to be having trouble breathing. I've read a little on respiratory problems and he doesn't have any of the typical discharge or mucus around his nostrils or mouth. However, it seems like he's exhaling out of the opening in the bottom of his mouth rather than through his nostrils. I sat and watched him for a while and every time he exhales he drops his lower jaw a little. I managed to get a quick look inside his mouth and I don't see anything that might indicate mouth rot. I do live in northern WI and I don't have problems keeping the temp in his cage up, but humidity is a problem. I'm lucky if I can keep the humidity up around 40% all winter by using a humidifier in the room where he's kept. Other than that he's in really good shape, just ate after his mid-winter fast and he's getting ready to shed again. [ Hide Replies ]
