I personally prefer using snake bags to ship and transport my snakes - they are designed to breathe a bit better than the standard pillow case - and packed properly then snake doesn't slide around a bunch like if they are shipped in containers making for a less stressful trip. If it's cold and I need to take one of my snakes somewhere I'll stick the snake in a snake bag and put it in a critter cage with some newspaper and a heat pack.

In case you need it - this is a very good site with info for shipping snakes:
arbreptiles.com/shipping/index.shtml

Hope this helps.
