I wasn't saying that they are colubrids just that they seem more colubrid-like than python-like. The thing that confuses me about them is that the head structure, scalation on the head and lack of heat pits don't seem consistent with python morphology. The hood thing confuses me too. Did they mean that they have a hood like a hog nose?
