I have been told that damage to the follicles could cause them to be absorbed. This dmg could be caused from feeding (during constriction which could be why most go off-feed during this time of the year) and by over palpating them. There are probably many other reasons that follicles could be absorbed, just think of anything that could stress the animal should not be done. I wish you the best of luck with your season.
and an answer to your other question. Our striped vanilla has bred a pastel female, a cinny female and a couple odd normals. One of the females is due to lay any day now and i'm getting tired of waiting, lol. I didn't go as low on the temps this year as i normally do so we'll see how that goes. ----- Josh & Krysty Hutto
