>>If you have ANY advice on the dress though! That's the only part that worries me; she wants a real honest to God wedding dress, and none of our surviving family has that skill with a needle. I've looked online and sheesh. Who pays 500 dollars for a one time dress?
A few suggestions on that would be prom, homecoming, and bridesmaids dresses. All look very much like wedding dresses and in fact many times pass for wedding dresses. The bad part is however if she is over a size 10, trying on anything will be next to impossible unless she goes somewhere like davids bridal (which is nationwide and has wedding dresses cheap). IF you have one near you, try them. If she is set on a full brides dress, she can do that. Most of their dresses are in the 300-400 dollar range. Mine was 399. Viels, if anyone is good with a hot glue gun, you can do that for under 5 bucks or pay 100 or so for one at a store. ----- Cindy
