If you truely only want one snake, stop all research and never come back to this site again. After you see the amazing potential and the variety that has yet to be seen, you will want more, and more and... It always starts with one, and then he "looks lonely". Then you see another that would look good with the other two or came as a package deal with the new friend. Then you become "THE SNAKE PERSON". All your friends start telling you about this snake that needs a new home. 35 snakes later you form a rescue and you realize you only wanted one.
Welcome to the addiction.
As for your questions, get the healthy one. Nice color and pattern that you like. And healthy. A ten gallon will last about 1 1/2 years and that is stretching. It is based on length. When they can wrap around the enclosure and touch their own tail and all 4 walls at the same time, it's way too small. ----- Lead us not into temptation. We can find it on our own.
