resperitory problem. Cold?

i noticed my 9-10 month old kenyan sand boa has popping noises when breathing, my EMT training tells my this is probally mucus or fluid causing this. i noticed this last night after he refused food a second time. if he has a cold, besides obviously raising the temp, what actions should i take?
