These came from a partially striped female, who only showed a hint of striping, that was supposedly a "farmed", imported juvenile (at least that is what the original owner said).She came in as a trade-in at my retail store. I mated her to my best normal male. About half of the resulting litter showed some degree of striping. So it acted like a co-dom in this instance.
I'm fairly sure it isn't a temperature anomaly, since I housed her with another pregnant female throughout both animals' gestation, and the other female dropped a normal, unstriped litter of 34 just a few days after the striped litter was born.
At any rate, further experiments will have to wait till these guys have grown up. The mother was lost to a feeding accident when one of my employees attempted to feed both females in the same cage! I kept back 2.3 of the best babies, so we'll see....
