Do you think that Animal Planet, or National Geographics are incorrect then to photograph and televise the lions and crocodiles while they rip the gazelle to shreds?
-incorrect? NO, the point is that I don’t enjoy watching it. Like anyone else I can turn to another channel if it bothers or upsets me. I am a realist and I do know and understand how animals feed and what they consider food based on their specific species. I also do not think that your photo is the same as the tv shows you mentioned.
Are the people who watch these shows sadistic and wrong for doing so? I dont think so personally.
-Anyone that ENJOYS or finds GRATIFICATION from watching an animal being as you put it "ripped to shreds" is sadistic.
Also,if these events shouldnt be glorified by photographing them, maybe we shouldnt write about such things either. Who become the arbiter of whats allowed? PITA maybe? I think not.
-Glorified? How can you compare writing about a topic based on animal behavior and looking at graphic photos of animals being killed? You think that they are the same? Here is the deal, I hate cruelty, period. Our versions of what cruelty is or is not might be different. All of the people on this forum that have Royal Pythons are probably very aware of how they kill rodents and how they eat them. I just don’t like to exploit the details of an animal dying as if it is fun or entertaining. You on the other hand might not agree with my thoughts on this subject which is up to you. PITA? where? when? me? You’re stretching on that one.
