no i dont see a pepper like substance... all i find in the water is poop and some white substance that resembels white caulking ?? not sure what that could be or if its normal.

his hideaway is on the oposite side (left) of the tank and that area i keep cooler so im not sure why he does that ?

here is a pic of my setup. I have added a drain to my water container so water changes take few seconds , I still need to make it look like a real pond so I will be experimenting with that next week.
