That is a very good question! I am sure if I let the Barkers, Ralph, or the Sutherlands, or someone with a very keen eye for detail, examine the Sulfurs, they would have a list of characteristics that the Sulfurs have, that separates them from normal Balls.
That being said, let's start with the only adult Sulfur in existance, the original Sulfur female that is in my collection. She has a Toffee body color, with maroon tint, if that makes any sense at all. In person, the original female might be mistaken for a Toffee/really light Burgundy Hypo. In fact, the original breeding loan between me and Eric Sandoval was done under the impression that she was a Hypo of some type, and we were shooting for Mojave Hypos. The Sulfur adult also has a nice light head pattern. This head pattern is very pronounced in the baby Sulfurs, but kind of blurs out in the adult a bit...think old tattoo vs. brand new tattoo. The head pattern looks like a gold triangle, or arrow head, with the point of the triangle pointing back towards the snake, as opposed to pointing over the snakes nose. The Sulfurs do not have a belly pattern, start out as babies as very milk chocolate looking, vs. normals looking more like dark chocolate. The belly is bordered by pattern that is connected over most of the length of the snake. If you put a Yellow Belly next to a normal, the YB stands out, if you put a Fire next to a normal, the Fire stands out, if you put a Sulfur next to a normal, the Sulfur stands out.
