Reptile relief isn't as great as provent a mite when it comes to taking care of a mite problem, but I haven't had any issues with it. When I worked at a petstore it was used pretty regularly on snakes that had mites and they never had any ill effects from it. Just make sure you follow the directions exactly and you should be fine
