Posted by: STUART at Fri Apr 6 20:32:18 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by STUART ] She grew a nasty puss filled tumor in her tail right next to the vent. The vet thought it might have been something that she ate that wasnt digested and was trying to pass through (maybe matted hair?)putting a hole in her vent from the inside and causing an infection. Shes not 100% sure of that. But I took her to get surgery a couple of months ago and they removed the tumor and stitched her up. She had a drain in her tail for one week to drain extra fluids and she was on pain killers and antibiotics for three weeks plus I had to flush the wound, kindof a pain with a 10 foot boa! I took her back today to get the stitches out and she started to get a little infection in her tail which was noticed upon removal of the stitches. So they kindof opened her up again and removed the infection and packed it with an antibiotic. Im hoping she heals up, the vet bills really add up but you have to do what you have to do! Have you ever tried to bandage a boa? LOL. Its near impossible. | ||
