We have a good size colony of ASFR , The mothers are a bit nippy when they have babies, but i have never thought them to be "mean" we have close to about 200 or so right now and for the most part they are not bad for biting, although i am talking about our personal experience over the past year. I have used them for many stubborn feeders and they have worked 9 times out of 10, we have fed them to our snakes live and never once have had any ill effects, granted i wouldnt recomend keeping them in over night with a snake, but i wouldnt recommend that for any rodent. Also out of all of our ASFR feeders only one refused any oher food, normally once they start on ASFR they can be switched very easily. When rat production is down and we have a few extra snakes to feed ill feed them the ASFR but they always take domestic rats the following week. I have never had any problems feeding or raising ASFR but then like i said this is only our experience over the past year with them, other breeders may have other opinions
