I was concerned about using FexWatt in a smaller setup, because the wet bottom is so close and you will be bumping into the edges and the wiring more often then in a larger setup. I think you can probably pull it off, but you are really going to have to make sure the exposed ends are insulated. I would try and use 1 piece, with as few exposed electrical edges as possible.

You know what you can do:
You can elevate the eggcrate sucurely about 3.5" from the bottom. Use 4 small-3.5" pcs of PVC pipe and a hot glue gun them , real good, to the 4 corners of only the egg crate(so you can lift out the eggcrate & reinstall it also).
With the eggcrate out, fill the bottom with 3" of water, then install a 50WATT HIGH QUALITY fish tank heater. Reinstall the eggcrate "shelf" and place tupperware containers for w/holes insides ontop on eggcrate for the eggs.
You will need a HIGH QUALITY controller to regulate the heater, but I think this method will provide a great even heat, with really good humidity. Just add water when the level drops. I dont think evaporation will be a huge problem in a small, enclosed environment
Also, heat cable may wotk in this application, but I havent used it. The fish heater is nice a compact also as opposed to a long piece of cable?
