My friend recently joined the Navy, and could not take his yearling female bci. She is beautiful and I was with him at the NC Reptile show. So I have her now. She is not my only boa, but she is the only one of my snakes that bites. She has never bitten me, but constantly strikes at me. I have been taking her out daily and holding her to try and accustom her to me. She is still just hateful. I know that when they are young they can just have an attitude. My main question is how many of you have adults that are still like this? She is handleable now, I'm mainly concerned about having a 10 foot mean boa that is hard to handle. Is there anything else I can do? She is in her own cage which is about 2'x 1' (she is still small, maybe 3 ft long) it is heated by heat tape (controlled) and is at about 89 degrees. She is still on mice, but I am switching her to rats next week. Thanks for any comments and suggestions.
