Only time it gets close is during breeding season if there are two males shoving each other around. That was before putting the bowl on top of the hide, now that it's up there, not enough room to tip over and the lip on the sterilite lid has been enough to keep the bowl in place. I only use an inch of water because they will fill the rest with snake. That height seems to be just right to not overflow but to get close to the rim when multiple snakes are in the bowl at the same time. ----- Thanks,
