Depends a little on where your keeping it. If you have a dedicated herp room that stays warm, can't go wrong with on=e of the plastic cages like made by Boaphile. I have several and they all work great. If however you are putting the cage in a cooler location, IMO, the plastic cages might not have enough thermal mass and could get cold and/or hot spots. For that situation I'd go with a 3/4" wood product, I've made cages from 3/4" oak plywood and they look great.
