Not really, as long as your ambient temp isn't, say, below 65 degrees. In my tubs I've never had the ambient temp get below 70, while the warm side tends to stay between 85 and 90, depending on time of day and the temperature in my room at the time. My snakes are still eating, pooping, shedding, and otherwise behaving just fine, so I see no reason to tinker with what works!
