Wild turtle diet

hey i cought 6 turtles and a local canal, and one for sure is a red ear slider, and the others are probably western pond turtles. i do not know what to feed them, ive tried gold fish, as they have simply ignored, and tried various fruits, same results, and just tonight , i bought some turtle pellets, whihc im not sure they will eat. they look full grown as several of the 'pond turtles' have mated quite a few times.the fishes were longer by a fin than the width of the turtles' head. any help? its been about 5 days now! it is about 50-80 *F usually this past week
