It has always impressed me how this map speaks volumes for the importance of roadways in obtaining voucher specimens. Considering that each and every dot on this map represents a specimen in a museum somewhere (Werler and Dixon’s requirements), it is remarkable how the dots literally trace out the roadways in Trans-Pecos Texas. Just from a rough estimate, I would guess that >90% of these records come from roadways. [ Hide Replies ]
