went down saturday night and stayed at a friends house , we got there pretty late actualy , getting ony a few hours of sleep . we arrived at 2 am and i could hear hundred of gray tree frogs evrywere in his backyard, it was rather nippy . hunted around the back yard till it got warm finding a few toads to start the day off(CLICK THEM TO ENLARGE THEM < SORRY)
we set out for capemay wildlife preserve wich was directly a cross the street from my friends house. gotta love it .
heres some habitat shots found a small boxturtle near a trail in the boggy areas.sorry no pic .we found tons of redbacked salamanders un rotted logs, sorry for the crappy pics.
came across a baby black racer cruisin across me.
we went farther up 47 to clint mill pond ,heres some sunroof shots of us cruisin the dirt roads. then some bogg shots of were i found a painter turtle ..
we then set out for the powerline trail behind 47 more inland .
i found a 5 lined skin under a car seat and a fence lizard on a pile of tree stumps
after this and eating lots of food and water we went to another part of capemay wildlife preserve, hers a bottle half into the ground with plants growing inside of it , kool stuff..heres a garter found amongst the leaf litter. after that i stumbled upon thisbaby black ratsnake in a rotted log
heres an adult male box turtle we found in the same area as the garter and black rat.
cape may wildlife preserve leads to kimbles beach were we stumbled upon this fiddler crab .
and ya cant go wrong with a good way to end the day by relaxin on the beach.to the left would be my awesome girlfriend who walked these 15 some miles with us and to the right would be my friend adam who lives down there
